Homebrew Collab #1
Matt Trygve Torjusen
Matt Trygve Torjusen has been a homebrewer since 2019. Originally from Vancouver, WA he moved to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University and has been living in Bellingham for the past 15 years.
Matt’s passion for home brewing first sparked in 2019 after visiting family in Norway, where a cousin handed him his first taste of a home brewed Belgian blonde. After living in Norway for 6 months, Matt developed a new appreciation for lighter ABV beer due to Norway’s strict alcohol regulations. Well-crafted German or Czech Pilsners are some of his favorites.
With an artistic approach backed in science and tradition, Matt has discovered a love for brewing traditional Belgian-style and Lambic-inspired sours.
He enjoys creating and designing labels for his beer which often incorporate his wife’s abstract paintings.

Homebrew Collab #2
Helio Lambais
My passion for homebrewing started in 2013 when I was living back in Brazil (where I am originally from) after a visit to a local brewery where I learned more about craft beer and then, a few weeks later I decided to take the homebrew course offered by the head brewer of this local brewery.
I am most passionate about sour beers, wild beers, farmhouse styles, barrel aged beers and IPAs. Being a real Belgian beer lover, I am completely interested in beers with deep complexity, spices & fruit additions.
I became a BJCP Certified Judge in 2017 and have been judging and organizing competitions since then.
I always brew in collaboration with my wife (Claudia Cunha) which is a very nice thing as we share our passion and do everything together.
In the last 2 years we’ve won about 17 awards, including 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 8 bronze medals across Canada, Brazil and Peru, including third place in the Best of Show in the 2022 Canadian Homebrew Competition.
Cheers!
